Escaparium Sherbrooke: The Legend of the Three Dragons

“These three dragon eggs were your most precious possessions. Ten days ago, unfortunately, someone stole them. You suspect the Lenekers, the powerful family that lives and dominates Riverland County, to be the perpetrators of this robbery.

After several days of walking in a Siberian cold, you finally find yourself in front of the Leneker’s castle, which seems unoccupied. Through the window of the dungeon, you see the faces of your comrades who tried to enter the castle a few days ago. Here’s your quest. First, rescue your friends, trapped in the dungeon. You must also search the castle, before leaving with your three dragons eggs in hand.”

A classical but pleasant escape game with many Easter eggs (pun not intended) for fans of Game of Thrones!

Immersion 4,0 stars
  • Nice elements of decor.
  • A great transition between the first and second rooms.
  • The many references to Game of Thrones.
  • The magical effects thanks to RFID-based mechanisms.
  • The hint-providing TV screen is out of place in this medieval environment.
  • Several padlocks (either key-based or code-based) look too modern for the environment.
Puzzles 4,5 stars
  • Your team will start the adventure separated into two sub-teams.
  • A good mix of thinking, searching and communication.
Hosting 3,0 stars
  • A very basic welcome, gamemastering and debriefing: we could not feel any enthusiasm for escape games in our gamemaster, he barely answered our question and his presentation of the scenario was reduced to a minimum.

Performance: We escaped the room without any hint in 41’50’’ – which was, according to our gamemaster, the best time for a team of three players (the record is 34’ for a team of six players).

Difficulty: The room was not too difficult, especially if you have some experience of escape games.

At the same venue: This venue also features the very good Curse of the Jade Skull, which was, in my opinion, one step ahead of this one.

Elsewhere in the escape galaxy: The Game of Throne inspiration reminded me of The Castle at Jigsaw Escape Rooms in Ottawa, although I prefered The Legend of the Three Dragons, which is more sophisticated.
